Black Widow may not be planned to get a sequel, but one fan has shared exatly what it could look like.

Black Widow was the first movie of the MCU’s Phase 4, and while it finally gave Scarlett Johansson her first lead in the franchise, it also became a mixed-mag in both reviews and success. Arriving during the Covid pandemic, the film was released under the Day and Date strategy, which saw it arrive on Disney+ Premiere at the same time it released in theaters. This led to a low box office and a problem with piracy, as well as a lawsuit from the movie’s star over her pay agreement. However, the film did have plenty of fans, and even though the nature of the story meant that there was not going to be a sequel, that hasn’t stopped one digital artist from creating a poster for the continuation of the Black Widow franchise – with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova leading up a collective made up of the MCU’s finest Russians.

Even though Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff is not featured in the artwork for what the poster titles Black Widow: The Winter Guard, with her story technically ending with her death in Avengers: Infinity War, there are plenty more from the Russian quadrant to take over in her stead. This includes the likes of Red Guardian, Ursa Major and Melinda Vostokoff. Check out the epic artwork below.

Of course, while Black Widow 2 is not on the cards, we are getting a Black Widow reunion of many of these characters in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. As part of its ensemble of Marvel rogues, Thunderbolts will see David Harbor and Florence Pugh back as Red Guardian and Yelena Belova, and they will be joined by, among others, Sebastian Stan in his return as Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier.

Even though her time as Natasha Romanoff is over, Scarlett Johansson doesn’t seem to be letting go of her MCU connections just yet. With her lawsuit against Disney having been amicably resolved, the actress has teased on numerous occasions that she has something else in the pipeline with Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige.

Although he has not gone into any details at all about what it could be, Feige previously called the new project “top secret,” but turned the conversation to praising Johansson for her previous work. He said at the time:

“Scarlett has lent her talent and star power to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade. That she’s chosen to play a key part in it for so many years, I am extremely grateful for. Working with [her] has truly been one of the most memorable and rewarding collaborations of my career.”

While all will be revealed in time, for now, the landscape of the MCU is very much up in the air thanks to the writer’s and actor’s strikes, as well as some shake-ups at Disney following the return of Bob Iger. With recent Marvel projects not quite living up to expectation, on both the big and small screen, the next few years are going to be tumultuous for the world’s biggest movie franchise.
